Are Heavy Metals the Reason You Cant Get Rid of Candida?
If you are like I was then you are probably feeling frustrated with the endless battle that is fighting chronic candida. And your probably downright confused with all the conflicting and frankly inaccurate information on the web about how to get rid of candida.
Well I’m going to reveal some information in this article that might shock you. This goes against the dominant paradigm in the natural health sphere which just views candida as an opportunist infection that results from antibiotics and a high sugar diet. While, this is true, it’s not the whole story.
It’s this type of thinking that is stopping you from being able to get rid of your candida or why it keeps coming back.
It makes me sad that people are being led down the wrong path and not getting better. That’s why I’m going to share my experience of how I eliminated my systemic candida with you.
Most people just treat, treat, treat candida and it just keeps coming back. I even know of a woman who has been doing cleanses for 20 years and still can’t get rid of candida!
My experience mirrors hers. For two years I went to war on candida by nuking it with every weapon I could get my hands on (garlic, oregano oil, coconut oil, and others). After this approach failed, I got wise, and radically changed my thinking. It had dawned on me that maybe candida is just a SYMPTOM- and I know better than to treat symptoms!
Candida is Just a Symptom
My training in nutritional therapy taught me that when addressing chronic disease, we need to figure out the underlying cause of the dysfunction. We don’t treat symptoms because it doesn’t work. The symptom is just a sign that something is not right in the body.
In the same way, candida is just a symptom of a deeper problem. Until you eliminate this problem you will never be able to get rid of candida. It will just keep coming back. This also goes for parasites too. You may be able to get them down to low levels, but if you don’t address the underlying cause your fight will be futile.
I finely got rid of candida by detoxing heavy metals after a two-year battle. Candida, believe it or not, just died off on its own once I detoxed the bulk of my heavy metals.
I did not need to take anti-fungals, herbs and the like.
Parasites are also dying off on their own without taking any anti-parasitic herbs to kill them. Warning- this might be TMI, but I have been seeing dead parasites in my stools for about year!
I know that all the bugs are dying off due to the intense gurgling sounds coming from my gut which can often go on all night. During these die off episodes I also get many symptoms such as thirst and chills. It sounds like the battle of Hastings- it is THAT loud.
My chronic yeast infections are gone, all my chronic health problems have improved and I now test negative for candida. You can read my full story here.
Is Heavy Metal Toxicity the Reason You Cant Get Rid of Candida?
Heavy metal toxicity and candida go hand in hand. It has been my experience and is the opinion of many experts that heavy metals such as mercury and lead are the underlying cause of candida. Therefore, you can’t get rid of candida if you have heavy metal toxicity.
Please see my article on Heavy Metal Toxicity to understand why everyone is toxic and why it is causing the majority of chronic health problems today.
There are different theories for this but here are the main ones that make sense.
Candida overgrows to protect us from heavy metals:
Is candida friend or foe? This is an interesting question. According to this theory, Candida and parasites actually serve a purpose to protect us from the potentially fatal complications of heavy metal poisoning. They feed on heavy metals and store them within biofilms- buffering us from heavy metal overload.
If heavy metal levels become to high they can overwhelm every system in the body and have devastating consequences.
So candida is actually the lesser of two evils even though it cause a whole host of symptoms. Without candida or parasites to have our back we may die from heavy metal poisoning. I know it sounds drastic but from my research this theory seems plausible.
Heavy metals sterilise the gut allowing candida to thrive:
Mercury or other heavy metals such as silver are anti-bacterial agents. They will wipe out the friendly bacteria in our guts. This allows candida and parasites to take foothold and run riot. Once this happens they can spread to other parts of the body such as the vagina or mouth.
Amalgam dental fillings are 50% silver and 50% mercury. If you have these fillings they may be causing unbalanced gut bacteria and candida overgrowth.
Until you remove your mercury fillings, you may never be able to get rid of candida.
In fact, when mercury fillings are removed and a proper detox is done, candida overgrowth is known to resolve by itself with little or no effort. As was the case for me!
As Dr Klinghardt writes:
“My clinical experience and other medical colleagues show that patients with chronic mycosis (Candidiasis), patients with chronic viral conditions (Epstein Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, HIV, herpes zoster and genital herpes, CFIDS, etc..) or recurrent episodes of bacterial infections (chronic sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, infections of the bladder / prostate, etc.) often show spectacular healings following an aggressive detoxification program from dental amalgam /mercury.”

Copper toxicity may be causing your candida overgrowth:
Copper is one of the body’s primary yeast killing substances. The anti-microbial properties of copper have been known for centuries and have long been used to prevent the growth of pathogenic microbes. For example, copper sulfate is often sprayed on crops to kill yeast and fungus. Copper is also used in some swimming pools and hot tubs to control yeast and bacterial growth.
There is now growing evidence that our body kills microbes such as candida by pumping them with copper and inflicting copper poisoning upon them.
Dr Paul Eck found that an important cause of candida overgrowth is high amounts of biounavailable copper in the body. This is known as ”copper toxicity”. When copper becomes biounavailable the body is unable to utilise it for anti-fungal properties. This allows candida to grow, thrive and take over. Therefore, until you detox copper you simply wont be able to get rid of candida and parasites for good.
In my experience this theory has shown some truth. After I started detoxing copper from my body my candida started to die off on its own. Or my body was able to overcome it. Again, I did not need to use any anti-candida remedies, despite having a stubborn persistent candida overgrowth.
Heavy metals weaken the immune system:
Heavy metals weaken the body and the immune system. Without a strong immune defence the body will not be able to fight off and control candida and chronic infection will result.
Candida thrives in a body where there is plenty of waste products (toxins) to eat, and not much immune activity to get in it’s way.
If your body is toxic this needs to be addressed before you will be able to get rid of these unwanted guests!
